Classmates,

Recently, a classmate asked the Class officers to revisit our policy about posting non-profit events, and we have done so.

Over the years we have all participated in charitable campaigns operated in a cause we had some interest in addressing. The Class has not been involved in any way with these private operations for concern that any involvement at all could be construed as an endorsement of that particular operation.

As a result, we have decided to permit classmates to submit an announcement of their personal participation in a particular charity event for posting on the Class web site. These postings will be on the 1MC page of the web site and will remain up until the date of the event.

Please use the following format for the submission:

Submitted by: Classmate's Name
Who: Name of Non-Profit or Not-for-Profit Organization
What: Type of Event
When: Date & Time of Event
Where: Location of Event
Why: Short description of why the event is worthy of participation!
Link: URL to the Organization's Event

I want to stress that this is an announcement “service” only.We are simply announcing a classmate is participating in a charity event in a manner where other classmates can support if they desire to do so.
